#1 Evan Fink period 6 The entire week was spent in the computer lab to work on our new project. We had to pick a major topic that happened from the 70's - now. I chose the space ship columbia becuase I saw a program on it either on the History ghcannel or the Milliary channel awhile back and I thought it would be an interesting topic to chose. I began to look into it and found out that it was quite interesting. #3 Evan Fink period 6 The past week we learned a lot about past presidents. We covered Carter and a lot about the Reagan administration. Carter, in my opininion was a good president for what he accopmloshed in the time period he was president in. He did a lot to help improve peace with other nations that were at war, like the Camp David Accords. As well as bringing peace to countries while he was president, when he wasnt in office, he also did a lot of humanitarian work and is also the president who has accomplished the most after presidency. After Carter we learned about the entire Reagan Administration. But the week eneded with us just learning a little bit of the outline of what he accomplished. Overall, it was actually nice to learn about Jimmy Carter, because when he was campainging, my mom and my sisters followed him around the US and helped him get elected. She would always tell em stories of the different towsn she was in and how great of a person he was #4 Evan Fink period 6 We continued the week were we left off on Reagan. We started with a general outline of his administration and what he accomplished while in office. Then we went more indepth into the indivisual things that he did. But more importantly, we learned the difference between a Liberal and a Conservative. We got into groups and named some difference between the two, what they stood for and why they support it. For examply, abortion. Liberals believe that there should be abortion, whereas Conservatives believe that is murder and killing an unborn child. The major differecne between the two is that Liberals want a large goverment to be able control everything from jobs, the econmy to buissness. Conservatives stick with traditional American beliefs that our founding fathers wanted, a small, self sustained goverment with a free economy and market. We ended the week with putting what each side stood for on the board and what presidents were Liberal and Conservative. I learned a lot about this topic and found it very interesting. #5 Evan Fink period 6 This week we started to work on getting ready to write out Political Manifesto. A political manifesto is basicaly an essay on your viewpoints on whether your a Conservative or a Liberal. We put them into a catagorie on the board and listed what they believed, and gave examples of the presidents that stood for each. I figured out that almost every single view on the boeard, I believed in the Conserverative sides. For example the size f the goverment, Liberals believe in a large goverment to control everything, where as Conservatives believes in a small, self sustaining goverment. I also believe I am a Conservative because of my dad. My dad and sister have a health insurance buisness, and it pretty much runs on a free market. He lost a lot of clients when Obama took office and changed all of this. He offered low to free goverment controlled health insurance and almsot ran my dad out of buissness. Luckily ObamaCare didnt completly destroy the buissness, and my dad and sister recovered and are slowly gaining more clients over time. |
